Fairing Project FYI

I bought the fairing off ebay that is listed as http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Harle...Q5fAccessories
and mine is really turning into a real project:( I did end up getting the brackets figured out and made. The ones included won't fit the Nomad (not that I thought they would.) I got the thing mounted and went for a ride, I was pleased as it seemed pretty nice. Got back and took it all apart to start work on the radio. Decided to try a different style bolt and ended up stripping and breaking it off in the windshield mount. GRRR! Took the fairing off and apart and started on the radio. I chose the four 5" speaker version, but beware! Standard 5 1/4 car speakers DON'T fit. Had to try and dremmel out the holes, and still not sure how well they will mount as there isn't much room for the screws. Next tried to mount to stereo. I had bought one with the water proof cover, but the hole in the fairing is WAY to big. Will have to get a backing plate made up. I'm starting to regert the decision to try this, and I'm not even close to done:(

Fairing Project FYI

I felt the same way about half way through the project to mount a Harley fairing to my Nomad. Now that it is mounted, I feel a lot better about selection it over other fairing options available for the Nomad.

I am sure that you will feel a lot better about the project once you start to see the end of the project approaching.

Sorry to hear your having a few problems mounting the fairing, sometimes a job you think should be straightforward turns into a nightmare. I know that firsthand Ive had quite a few over the years.
It does state in the description that some modifying may be neccessary, I guess it all depends on how much your comfortable with. If your in a bind just ask here and someone will come up with an idea.
