Kuryakyn Wild Things TFI 180.00 prepaid from www.scootworks.com

Not sure if this is the plug & play model. You can contact @ 919.269.0986

Bought Dobeck TFI plug & play from them few months ago for 191.00 prepaid, but don't see it listed now. Guess they went with the Kury model which, being made by Dobeck, is exactly the same unit.

I've noticed the splice-in version runs about $25-$50 less than the plug and play model/

Bd, got mine here www.scootworks.com Not plug and play... Either way the demon gets you..

No plug and play and the battery needs to come out and you need to solder.

Plug and play and the tank needs to be lifted if not removed.

I hope you like demons... Naw it ain't that bad. it just takes a little time.

I guess the hardest part is where to put it if you have the carbon canister still.

What ever you do allow some room in the wire ti hand hold it farther away from the bike than you think it needs. When i did mine I cut the wiring shorter than that, but there is still 4 inches of extra wire.

I just wish i left over a foot of extra so i could sit on the seat to mess with it, instead of kneeling, holding a screw drive in one hand, a magnifing glass in the other hand, and light in my last hand.

Ordered my TFI yesterday. $191 delivered. 2050ST Plug and Play. bring on 87 octane and no ping! My resistor days are about over..

I think the resistor mod has it's limits. My bike pinged like a mofo when new. the resistor's helped but it still pinged a little. I believe that the resistors both in the water temp and air temp do fool the ECU into believing the temps are cooler and richens up the mixture but from looking at the wiring schematics I think the ECU is taking this "cooler water temp and air temp" and advancing the timing a little as well. This defeats the purpose of the resistor mods.

As most know advancing the timing, although promotes more power potential, also introduces more engine knock or pinging. I'm suffering from one mod defeating the other maybe..?

Anyway, all resistors are coming out, the TPS is going back to 4.40 (stock) volts WFO and the TFI goes in place!

BD, Maybe with plug and play there will be no wiring to cut.. If you can take any pics i am sure that with the tale will be interesting.

I think you will be lifting the tank if not taking it off. It might be a good time to look over the main harness, for any faults as it can slip from the holders and rub thru, to dead short on the rear quasi valve cover. You don't want that to happen.

I read elsewhere you had coolant seeps, like everyone else. This would be a good time to check the upper clamps too.

For me it is easier to just pull the tank, over fiddling around trying to hold it, and do any work.

I don't have the bad time getting the speedo wires unhitched like I do with the battery.

I even wrote a How To for myself on the battery, but it is in a dead hard drive now, so in another month I will have to figure it all out again.
