High idle Voyager

Today I experienced my idle going to 2k and staying there for 30+ miles, also happened 2 more times but not for such a long period. Motor was warm, temp gauge at half way. This bike has been Ivanized for over 20k miles and no issues.

Planning on spraying the throttle body to see if that helps but one time it acted like it was being told to go to high idle, hand was off throttle

Anyone else had this happen to them or suggestions?

How many miles on bike?
When was the last time you gave the throttle body a good cleaning with a tooth brush?

Every now and again mine used to do that Pre-Ivan and a couple times after Ivan V1. When Mine would do it - I would stop - Shut the bike off, turn the key and let the gauges cycle and start the bike again. If I remember right - I might of even had to do it 2 or 3 times. I attributed it to the bike having an Electronic Brain Fart. I probably added some SeaFoam. When ever my bike would hicup - I add Seafoam.

Now that I think of it - it has not done it since the Second Version of Ivan Re-flash.

Not really sure if that helps.

Mine has been doing the same thing. 2012 with 46,000 miles Cleaning throttle body hasn't help. Shutting off and restarting cures it. Been meaning to call Ivan sometime. Have not done the update yet.

Pull the throttle body cover off and lube the cables to the throttle body from both ends. Those cables don't get lubed often enough.

I haven't done the second flash. Maybe I just need to take a ride down and get it done.

Oh yes they do, each year. Also when it was acting up, forced throttle to close and no effect. So I don't believe it to be a cable issue, which is what I first would have suspected

Sounds like an excuse to blow off work for a day and go look at the leaves!!!! I did a drive by and it was only 400 miles round trip - got to see right away what the Re-Re-flash did.

No need for me to blow off work, everyday now is Saturday ;-)

Found the "I'm on vacation notice" when I was looking for his address, but still plenty of the riding season to get down there

Did you ever get this issue sorted out??
The reason I ask is I had a similar issue when I was on a trip a week ago. Every time I would come to a stop the bike would idle at around 1500 rpm until I put in neutral and let out the clutch.
What I did find is that one of the safety switches that the clutch handle was not being activated. It was the switch that closes when the handle is pulled all the way in and was misaligned so I realigned it and the problem instantly went away. I did notice prior to this I could not start my bike in gear. You should hear 2 switches click when you pull your clutch handle in, you should hear the first click just as you start pulling in the lever, this switch is for the release of the cruise control I believe. The second click will occur when the lever is pulled almost all the way in, it was this switch that was not making. I wouldn't have believed that this switch would cause the high idle but as soon as I got it working, my idle issue completely disappeared, also I can start my bike in gear again.
Just thought I'd share in case you hadn't found your issue yet.

Hasn't reoccured since cleaning the throttle body. But I am not sure that is/was the problem. When issue originally happened the temperature was lower than what I have been riding in, my thinking is the ecu might think it's in startup mode. Will keep an eye on it since Temps are dropping

You are correct 1st click is cc release 2nd allows start in gear, if side stand is up. I was able to start in gear.
