I dont think you would be getting the clicking sound if it was the switch.But i dont know for sure.Its been a while,but if you look under the seat,there is a heavy duty wire that goes to a relay box behind the right hand side cover.Take the cover,and the water bottle off,and check the connections are good.That thing with the red terminal is what i am talking about.If i remember correctly,that black cable on the left of it,is the earth strap that goes to the back of the engine,check that too.

I would like to thank everyone for their help.
Decided that replacing starter on my own was not in the cards. Took bike to Mountain Motorsport in Marietta, GA. After verifying that the starter was the culprit, upon installation they called to let me know that they found the main wire to the starter had corroded and was not making good contact. I appreciated the fact that they did not just replace or charge me for the starter. Glad to get back on the road. Also big call out to Cycle Worthy Towing, the only way to have your bike hauled when you need it.
