Connectors under seat

What type of connectors do I need to get to wire something under the seat? I just got a TomTom Rider2 and need to wire it up. Thanks.

It's going to be mounted up on the handlebars, right? Why not wire it into the accessory connector in the headlight bucket? Standard male bullet connectors will work. Each accessory connector will accept two bullet connectors.

It is a GPS, one of those new fangled electronic map things that lie to you when they tell you directions.

Wire it straight to the battery terminal, just make sure you have an in-line fuse.

The accessory wires are already fused with a 10 amp fuse.

Why not just wire to front running lights?
I did, and I know of at these 4 others wired the same way. All working fine.

I just can't understand a GPS. To me that would be like asking a women for directions. Most of my rides the aim is to go get lost, so why would I want to know where I was going to be lost before I was?

I just don't see any point. Probably I should have shut up, and just gone to get lost eh?

Haha- good point, macmac.

I have mixed feelings on them too. When I lived in Minnesota and rode ATV's in the state forests, I became a believer in GPS quickly after getting a little disoriented one day.

But, on the highways and byways, I've had them send me down the stupidest possible route a man could take. They cannot be as intuitive as a human. Nonetheless, they have gotten me out of a jam a time or two. So I guess they're good and bad.

I had the TOMTOM units, which in my opinion, I would rather have an outdated roadmap than use one of their peices of junk.

Yes Mac...getting lost IS the fun part. Staying lost is not.

I have gotten pretty lazy since I started using GPS. It sure is nice when trying to find fuel, food, or an address when you are out of town.

Well last Sunday I was all local in my neck of the woods and finding food wasn't happenin'. It wasn't because I was lost, but it was because 4 of 4 joints I would hang out at were closed.

The economy??? I don't know. I simply refuse to eat at any place like a Micky Dee's.

Fuel I can find, and did even crossing the USA both ways. I even crossed Rt 50 in Nevada, and found fuel. I never carried a extra bottle of fuel once, and I was totally lost once I cleared Ohio.

Lost to me is never having been some place before once, and when I pulled that stunt I was plain ol' lost the whole time.

I knew which way was Nawth all the time, so I knew every other point on the compass rose, but had never seen any of what I was seeing before, so I was lost.

At the primitive events I do, I have been blind folded and spun around until I was dizzy, and can point to Nawth every time, once I stop weaving.

Are you guys sayin' you can't do that too? I hear men have a iron deposit in their noses... Seems to work for me...

I can even pull that off the same way after tippin down 3 maybe 4 big pewter stines full of home brew Apple Jack if I can stand up and hear anything like Engrish.

What I have, and you guys don't seem to have as much of, is Time..

I do not and refuse to live by some Captain Clock. When ridin' anything can happen and I never know what will be around the next corner. If it is a Moose I will stop and watch that Moose till it goes away. I figure the Moose is as lost as I am, even if it is his woods!

As for wiring the GPS, I grabed the Hot wire under the seat.. alos added a inline fuse... MY GPS is HOT 24/7 if left on... Draws very little even if you forget to turn it off... WHY?do I wire it hot 24/7??? Thanks for asking I tell you why I wire HOT! 24/7 :)
So each time I stop to eat or refuel I do not have to reboot.. Plus if Im keeping track of time on the road with stop overs the timer stays running... WHO cares ?? some people do LOL.......Rich
