Have you hit an animal on your bike?

The only thing that I've hit was a cat that ran right in front of me.

My brother hit a deer broadside on a GSXR with a passenger on it.

It killed the deer, did a lot of damage to the bike, got blood, guts, and deer sh*t all over them, but they didn't go down. They didn't get hurt either.

I've had a deer run out close enough to scare me pretty good, and had a bird hit my windshield once, but that's all.

What have you hit?

Hit a German Shepherd size dog on a 300 lb. 250 cc street bike. Broken collar bone and cracked ribs. 6 weeks off of work. One reason I now ride a heavy Nomad.

Hit a beagle on my 650 BSA in the old days. He ran out behind the guy in front of me. Couldn't stop. Gased it a little to take weight off front tire. Ran right over the mutt. Broke his back, heard it crack as I went over him with the back tire.
Did I stop, yes , to make sure it was not suffering. Did I report it to the owner, he11 no, keep your pi$$ing dog out of the road :(" title="" border="0"/>

The cat I hit was a couple of blocks from my house. I kept watching it get flatter and flatter, till eventually there was nothing left but a darker spot.

Split a bird on the edge of the windshield once and hit a rabbit in South Park last year. Just kind of a "thump" and it was all she wrote for the rabbit. Didn't really feel it too bad, but it sure grabbed my attention.

Dan
you need a copy of the book "101 things to do with a dead cat" it is available from Amazon for $7.00 and is a real hoot to read. I'm serious, there is actually such a book

Most unusual that I almost hit was 3 wild turkeys that came running out of the woods at full speed on the Blue Ridge Parkway......I had already decided the turkey was going to have a bad day and it was going to be tough to keep the bike up... for some reason they did a dead stop barely in my lane and went back the other direction....

No animals like you are thinking but got a bee stuck inside the ear flap on my 1/2 helmet (no face shield and VN800 with no windshield.) That could have been trouble but got stopped and the critter out before it stung. It must have more dazed than mad.

-- and with that, I make my 100th exciting and informative post!! Full Member, wow, when do I get the t-shirt, oh yeah, that one has already been used.

Ouch! Near miss for sure Ells.
Way back in the day when I was on a Yamaha Enduro (no windshield) doing about 60, one of those huge bumble bees nailed me right in the chest. Left a huge welt and hurt like hell.

Two or three birds. One hit my helmet and then got my girlfriends helmet. A couple of squirrels. I know this doesn't count, but I killed a deer with an airplane.

Meanstreak031,
Tell me more about killing a deer with an airplane. I thought I was the only one to do that. I sure messed up a nice Pitts a few years back.
