Another Man Down!

Steve, hope you heal quickly.
Any idea why the speed wobble?
Keep us posted as to your progress, both healing and with the bike.

Steve, I'm really sorry to hear about this. Very glad that you weren't hurt more badly than you were. This could have been so much worse.

I'll be praying for your recovery.

Geez Steve....sorry to to hear this. It's kind of creeping me out 'cause three of our longtime members have kissed pavement and ruined their rides in just this last month alone. Thankfully, they have all come out relatively okay, considering how much worse it all could have been... :-/.

I hope that this being the third (bad things happen in three's) post of this sort in rapid succession, that we have gotten this unpleasantness out of of our systems and can get on with a safe and joyful riding season....!

Hope you heal up quickly Steve. You'll find another ride soon enough. I'm guessing a flat tire did you in...but that's only a guess. Hard to believe we've had this much bad luck already and the riding season is only beginning... . Be safe out there everyone....

Like Scott, I opened this thread expecting it to be about a nameless rider only to read the incident was within the KawaNOW family. Sounds like a hell of a crash Steve; and I'm very glad you escaped in as good a shape as you did. From your description it could have easily had a worse outcome had you not listened to that "still small voice" and put on more gear than was your norm. Prayers for your rapid healing and condolences on the loss of the Bounty Hunter.

Steve, I have nothing to say that your/our brothers haven't already said.
I too was expecting to read some horrible story that someone outside of the KawaNOW "family" had an accident. Not you !! It sounds pretty bad,....broken bones hurt and bruises even more. Having had the misfortune to have gone down twice now, I know very well how you feel. I never wrote the Venture or the Nomad off but seeing it all scratched, cracked, and broken, hurts.
You're not unlike most of us, I assume it's going to hurt to see yours. But you will get another one, down the road.
Most important is that you lived to tell the story with relatively minor injuries. I'm glad to hear that you will recover, and hopefully, quickly. My best regards Steve get well soon.

WTF Steve!!! I'm glad you're alright all considered! Bones heal, scrapes too. The bike can be replaced and it was almost a HD so I guess you may as well get the rest of it!!! Get well soon my friend, my thoughts are with you. Hope to see you in Maggie Valley, let me know if you need anything, you are not that far away... Take care

Well Steve, I'm thankful you're alive. The bike can be replaced, but you can't. Heal up and get back with us.

I'm not a supersticious person, so I don't believe in the third accident coming. While we can't control accidents, I do believe that everyone does their best to prevent them. Accidents are accidents, so let's not blame anyone.

I always keep in mind that the next accident could be mine.

Holy Crap! What's going on? Glad you are OK. Heal quickly, take lots of drugs, but don't mix with alcohol. Stay safe...

Yikes!......Steve I was stunned when I read this your the last guy I would have guessed it would be. I'm so sorry to hear this news, but glad it wasn't any worse. The BIG GUY definitely must be looking after you as you were thankfully wearing all your safety gear. ::) Take care my friend and try to enjoy the healing process. It'll give you a chance to do some dreaming and catch up on some rest. ;)

There's always a bright side to everything Steve maybe this is your early ticket to a new set of wheels. I'm sure you would have preferred a less painful ticket though!
