How Do You Learn To Ride 2up?

Started 2 up training today. Spent about a half hour in a large parking lot. Progressed from "whoa, there a bit more weight to balance here and I have to stop smoothly and straight. Actually making me a better rider.

Progressed out of the parking lot to real roads. At speed it was really no different from riding one up. Low speed, still a little stressfull. All in all it will be practicce, practicce, practice until we head for Yosemite in Spetemeber.

How Do You Learn To Ride 2up?

When my wife is riding pillion, I have her hold onto the bike. Plant her back into the backrest and go where the bike goes. I feel better knowing how her weight shifts when she's tied to the bike than if she were mimicking my movements.

I always train my pillion riders to keep their shoulders in the same orientation (angle) as mine. If I'm straight up, so are they. If I tilt, so do they. Had some novices try to follow the bike on sharp corners and about spilled us! Had another pillion rider when we on a bike without a sissy bar that was leaning back, looking straight up and swinging side to side like a metronome. That was a trip! Nothing like frequent practice.

Bet it was quite a sight too.
