No highway bars right? So if you drop it in a parking lot it will smash a few thousand dollars of lower fairings and saddle bags? Really interested in this bike, but that part really scares me. I will admit I have dropped my voyager a couple of times.

If you are still dropping bikes, maybe it is time to hit the gym or get a trike. Just saying.

I'll bet it's got some sort of crash/drop mitigation sytem. You don't necessarily need traditional highway/crash bars to keep from doing damage. Look at the Victory Vision. It has little triangular pieces towards the bottom of the front fairing and rear saddle bag areas. You can dump one of those at highway speeds and do little other damage than to those $30 bits.

Look at this pic of my old Vision (http://imgur.com/a/5bwpG). The doohicky under the saddlebag is pretty easy to see. Not so much the front one that I circled in white. I laid mine down to clean under it a few times (put a bit of foam under each doohicky so they wouldn't get scratched. There's a video of some guy wrecking his on a mountain (black ice) at speed. No damage above the doohickys.

So add some. I'm sure they will be available.

Take a look at the new Venture and tell me how you would fit front crashbars to it ?

There is an engine guard integrated with the lower fairing. The lower fog/driving lights are connected to it. It even sticks out enough that you can mount highway pegs, but it is a close fit. It has a plastic cover over most of it.
