Heh, just had a thought. "Dry" Cleaning an air filter kind of like dry cleaning clothes. Using a solvent (like Kerosene) to dislodge the dirt and blow it out with compressed air to clear the solvent from the filter element.
I just use a K&N filter element because it is washable with Dawn soapy water, then air dry and finally blow out with compressed air to clean it.
