Small problem

While at the spring rally my bike would not start in gear and sometimes I had to hit the starter button 2 or 3 times before it would do any thing in neutral. I think that it is the switch on the clutch that is the problem with it not starting in gear but wanted to hear from you folks before I started buying parts.

Would it roll over Jim or nothing at all? What about the sidestand switch?

The side stand switch works fine and no it won't do anything when it is in gear. I will be installing some new risers this week, that will give me a better chance to check everything out.

It sounds to me like it's in your starter button or ignition switch. Those should be easy to check if you separate the housing. I'm not sure about the clutch lever switch. It should be open one way and closed the other.

If it were my bike I would pull off the (-) battery cable, and with a Ohm meter check the side stand switch the neutral switch and the clutch lever switch for continuity. You are looking for open / closed connections, or On / OFF.
