Evolution of an air cleaner cover
I have Chuckster's Dual Plate intake kit on an 08 Nomad.
I ran the stock dog bowl cover for a while. Then I drilled six 3/4" holes in it from 3 o'clock to 9 o'clock and positioned the holes on the bottom of the cover when installed. Worked pretty good. Last week I bought a dog bowl cover from a forum member, put a bolt thru it and chucked it up in a lathe at work and cut the flange off it. Sealed the cut with automotive clear coat. Installed it this morning and it's great. I need to adjust the Doebeck for more fuel pings a little. Here's some photos. Bob

Hey !! Looks real good. I went with the K&N chrome covers for both sides but yours looks excellent.

Hi "recumbentbob",
Nice work, I had the same idea as you did but kept putting it off due to having to use the Dremel and cut off wheel method. I ended up just polishing the outer "Chucks "plate and am pretty happy with the results.
