My local dealer wants $80 just to do the rear. If I remove the tire, he will mount the new tire for $15 front or rear.

If you remove the wheels yourself and take them to a dealer, normal charge is between $20-$30 per wheel here.

My mechanic charges $60/hr. It's about a 2 hour job to do both tires.

It is much cheaper if you can take the wheels off the bike and take them in. They charge me $20 per tire to install and balance if I buy the tires there. I usually remove one wheel, have the tire installed, and then reassemble before taking out the other wheel. I buy the tires ahead of time just to make sure I have them in my possession before removing the wheel and going to the dealer. They will install them while I wait.

I pay $120 front and rear. They take the wheels on and off the bike.

I paid once, the first time years ago, Ive since done my own tires, and balancing. Its not that hard to do with a couple tire irons yourself. There are many videos on youtube that show you how.
