Rear shock pressure

Hey guy's
I have never fooled around with the rear shock pressure. I ride 2 up most of the time. Is there a recommended pressure or do you just set it by feel ? Thanks in advance.

Not sure what your combined weight is but if you ride 2 up and your combined weight is around 350lbs. you can start with about 25lbs in each shock. This is done by lifting your Nomad so that no weight in on the suspension. I use an air compressor tank charged to 25lbs so that I know each shock has the exact same amount of air.

You also have a "clicker" or damper adjustment on each shock at the collar that should be set at II to III.

I fill mine with the tire on the ground. I use 13 lbs solo (measured with the tire on the ground) and sued to put it up to 17 if my wife and I are taking a long trip (combined weight of 320, of which I contribute more than my half). However, she likes the ride soft, do I have started just keeping on 14 lbs all of the time. My damper in on the III setting. Play around with it and find teh setting you like. I found with 20 lbs the bike was really solid in corners, but the freeway joints were rough on my back on a 500+ mile day. Tried it at 24 or at first with my wife and nearly lost her on a bump. Thank goodness for the back rest. She didn't quite clear it.

I like mine set at 35psi on the ground on #3. I use a progressive zero loss pump. Dont use an air compressor, youll blow the shock seals in a split second. They only hold a very small amount of air.

I use a zero loss hand pump and set mine at 20 lbs and #4 for 2-up.

This is my setting also. We are 400+ riding two up with all our gear.

I use 20 pounds from a H-D Shock pump, set with the tire off the ground per the service manual page 13-16. Two up with luggage. The ride is good for me one up or two up with this setting

I've been tinkering with the pressure, currently riding at 30 psi (tire on pavement) and the rebound setting on II. I only adjust the rebound when riding 2-up... I go to IIII.

So why does Kawa recommend raising the rear wheel? What difference doe this make?
