Yeah, but for the California models, it has to be biodegradable, so they use Olive Oil. ;)

Test drove a Can Am Spyder RT-SE5 today...
While waiting for my GW ride at the WngDing in K-ville Saturday, I tested some other rides.(all 2 up)
Among them 3 different trikes and the CanAm. My 1st time on any of them. The trikes were cumfortable and handleing on 2 lanes was OK. Fun! On 4 lanes I could really feel the crown off the pavement. Had to keep a lot of pressure on the right handlebar to compensate. The CanAm was so impressive we rode it 3 times! Like the owners say the open air port on the lower right blowes hot air onto the drivers leg. The owners block the port off and say it cures the problem without affecting motor cooling. It comes with a gel seat which is a bad mistake in 92 degree TN. It felt like I had left a heated seat on. Handled fine on 2 and 4 lane. I didn’t feel the crown. The only noticeable problem was small inputs on the handlebar had a large impact on the passenger. One wheel on the back makes the rear seat like the tail of the dog. By the 3rd thime out she said she hardly felt it at all. So either she became use to it or I was learning how to dive. Seemed like much more storage in the CanAm. Bothe the trike and the CanAm have trailers. The CanAm’s is bigger. |

Sounds like your impressions were similar to mine. The "tail-of-the-dog" problem was resolved once I realized I was over-steering by holding the bars too tight. Once I loosen the grip it mellowed-out.
The difference between a traditional-trike and these is that on the trad-trike... the back-end seems to wag the front-end; where the opposite occurs on the Spyders. I didn't notice the heat like you said; although I have heard of that being a problem. Having a HD... I am kind-of used to the heat-issue. I have a heat-shield on my pants!!! I find it interesting that I am noticing a fair number of those owning these things are former and current BMW owners. There are, of course, people that owned other bikes also, but largest number appear to be those who own or owned BMW's. One guy even owned a BMW dealership. Sorry Ponch!
