I don't get the route 66 fascination. Very little of it still exists. Most of it is I-40. Riding I-40 is no fun. I've ridden it from Holbrook AZ to Oklahoma City. Blah! We have one of the longest remaining stretches of route 66 from Williams AZ to Oatman.

Actually the old Route 66 continues south of Oatman to Topock. It's a great ride in itself.

One of the worst stretches of road I have ever ridden was I-80 from Rawlins to Green River WY with Brad on the way back from Custer. It was windy and there was one lane closed in both directions for miles. It was a line of semi trucks as far as the eye could see.

Riding with Brad anywhere makes travel horrible. That stretch of I-80 is just not fun. Absolutely nothing to see. Wind doesn't bother me too much. Have to live with it out here no matter what.

Topock is at I40 about 10 miles east of Needles.

Joel's wife is far more entertaining. Watching her chew her arm off at a different event was some serious theater....and the stink-eye she was beaming toward him would have brought mere mortals to their knees..... You Da Man Joel....

I still tell that story to my buddies down here. Joel threw her under the bus!

I have ridden that stretch probably a dozen times trying to get somewhere good.

They use chains as windsocks in Wyoming.
