I found Neil's obituary. It didn't provide a lot of information.
It has been posted on the VBA's memorial page.

Wow my only regret is that I couldn't meet the man in person, seemed like a great guy. It saddens me when a member's inevitable demise comes around full circle like this. My deepest condolences to the man, his close friends, and family. Great pictures too.
