Not another one of these threads.
![]() To TC and Monkeyman, 4 pressure changes is too much? Ok, 5. Started at 40 psi for the break in and then dropped to 32 psi, dropped 2 psi each time till I hit the goosie spot and back up 2 psi. If you can't feel the changes in handling then you wonder why you upgrade to a "high performance" machine. If the Victory boy thinks that it is the ultimate performance touring machine then he hasn't followed a rider on a Goldwing. If I could get comfortable on a Goldwing, that is the ultimate touring machine and would put any touring machine to shame in handling. Been there and watched as two goldwing riders were passed by two crotch rockets screaming along. The goldwings looked at each other and took off. I didn't even try. Next time I saw them they were laughing so hard because when they passed the crotch rockets they said they almost went off the road from shock.

I wonder how the insurance companies will react if there is an accident they see a CT on the bike.

I can't speak for Chris but for me, yes 5 pressure changes are more than I am willing to make to run a CT.
I have been on this forum since 2007 so you must know by now I am not a fan or even willing to try a CT on my bike. Nothing against it, it obviously works for a lot of you, more power to you ![]()

I think I'm going to give it a go.
What's the tyre recomendation for my 06 nomad? I have that 10% speedo error too so it would be nice if that would sort itself with another tyre. Login or Register to Remove Ads |

I put a C/T on my 08 Nomad a year ago. I went with a shorter one than most people do looking to lower the bike a bit. It work ( did lose a little on the top end). The ride was different and I wasn't sure I had done the right thing. But I stayed with it. I tried different pressure, front and back. But most of all I rode on wanting to see what others had talked about ( you know walk or RIDE a mile in my shoes to see what I see, and feel ) well it took around 2000 miles and I was hooked. I love my C/T and have around 7,000 miles on it now. Now here is the ( nugget ) if your interested, the front tire makes a huge difference when trying the C/T. How so some may say? Well if your front tire is wore flat as they do 1/2 way into there life the bike handles way differently than when you put a sweet new front tire on. Six months latter I did just that, put a new front tire on and WOW! I really don't think it matters whats on the back. It's a whole new bike. There is nothing like a new front tire, just my two cents.

I Just spoke to my local kwaka shop to see if they would do the transplant. Nope won't do it the wankers!
![]() Anyway looks like I will have to change the tyres over myself. Don't know if I can get the same tyres you guys recommend over here but might be able to get an equivilent. The local tyre shop will but I don't trust em with my rim. I've watched them work and their skills are ummm................somewhat agricultural. ![]() ![]()

I was forced to go to a bike tire. It's next to impossible to find a 195/60/16 in stock around here. I have a new CT sitting here waiting to go on soon. MT

As far as 'experiencing' goes, well you gotta sit at the table once in a while. I'm wintering in south Florida, so I can ride year round. I'm setting up my Mountaineer for a 4 inch lift for some off-road fun, and the Mustang is dialed in for low 9's in the 1/4. And I need to get back to my 96 BUBF project. MT

any specific brand you recommend for a size 190/60/16 ct? Assuming that will fit my '01 1500 since it fits you 03' 1500 (with a 1600 engine, right?)

I'm going to have to consider that Hankook. It's half the price I paid for my Dunlop SP5000. I'm due after 23,000 miles.
Have you run one of these yet? Can you give any comparo info between this and the Dunlop? Thanks in advance for any assistance.
