Most, if not all, of the "Chirping" went away when I thoroughly lubed the outer face of the K&N so that it made a better seal with the stock cover. The Thunder Kit apparently comes with the necessary lube, but I made do with high temp synthetic brake lube. There was no loose gasket as you suggested as the backing plate mates directly to the throttle body. I used some high temp rtv during installation to make sure that seal was air-tight. The back of the K&N was also firmly and securely seated in the backing plate groove, so I'm sure there was no air infiltration at that point either. |

Joe, you've been at work and you didn't let me know. Didn't I buy the first intake system? I need the new plate. Keep me posted and just email me with the price. Are you doing something for the left side so I can get that big black box out of there? Been burning up my tires a lot faster since I installed the intake... Thanks!
