The RG even offers security that the Vaquero doesn't. I'm not even saying one is better than the other. I don't plan on buying either one at this point.
Me either. I have to get a job first.

I love my '11 vaquero as well. I have a voyager as well. I put some polk audio speakers on the voyager that are marine grade and that has added some great sound esp. in conjunction with the iPod connection... Now i can rock and roll.... :) any 5 inch marine rated speakers will work, the polks sound awesome and took about 30 minutes to replace the factory installed ones. Easy upgrade and worth it esp. if your. Sound hound! Gonna get some for the vaquero next pay check!

Also the stock Road Glide does not have an electronic cruise control or lowers. At the time those items were around $2700 through the dealer plus installation at $75 per hour for around 20 hours. Neither the stock Road Glide or Vaquero was an ABS equipped bike.

You could have put a lot of money into upgrades/chrome which might have increased the selling price.
In regards to the bike I sold, it had the Road Glide fairing and saddlebags I added total cost less then $1000. The dealer here in town had the same bike I was selling, on his lot for $6500, the price I paid new for mine was $6486. I listed it on craigslist for $6400 and sold it for $6000 to an engineer at Boeing.
I never pay full retail for something, when I can drive 30 miles and save $1400. I went to the same out of town dealer and made the deal on my Vaquero for $13599.

Sorry folks. I was remarking how well that blue stands out, even at a distance, and somehow things went sideways. Sorry for hijacking the thread.

I have more time than they do. I believe from what I have seen that the depreciation
is the same for all the bikes. What I mean by that is, if you pay $13K for a '02 Kawasaki
Nomad new and $17K for a '02 HD Road King new, 10 years later they will have depreciated.
Kelly Blue Book says the Kaw Nomad at 10 years is worth $5115 and the HD Road King is worth $9315.
So I guess if you pay a little more up front you should expect that same margin when you are going to sell. Just saying....
Just "twice" a day, Gerry? I think you underestimate yourself.

Isn't hijacking a common thing on here?
Well it used to be anyway.
Maybe we are getting more civilized. Geez I hate to see that.

Glad you are liking your new Vaquero! I love mine, they ride smooth, good on slow speed turns and have awesome styling! I think this is the eye candy of Kawasaki motorcycles. ;)
