If you sit down and take a hard look at things, that's why I created the Garage Board many moons ago... for everyone to talk mechanics. I really believe that we should use the Garage area for Dark Side discussions and any other discussions pertaining to moto mechanics.

Look at it this way, if I create a board for the dark side, then I'll have to create a board for alll the other items that come up.... black Nomad owners.... green 1999 owners.... those that have riding lights..... and for those that have TFI's installed.

Realisitically, it's best that all of this be discussed in the Garage area. Anyone can do a search and find the threads they need.

Thanks,
Trip
Sigh ........ Oh well. Thanks for the reply and thank you for all you do here!

Since I ride on the lightside and not the darkside that sounds good to me Trip.

This cheapo has been riding on the same car tire over 18,000 miles. I can safely ride another 3 - 5,000 miles on it before replacing it. Never had a death wobble at speeds up to 115 mph and a Nomad simply can't lean enough to get anywhere near the corner of the tread. I was very skeptical and researched for months before mounting that $97 SP 5000. I even went as far as to call my insurance agent asking if I and my bike would be covered should I crash with the car tire. His answer was yes, as long as the tire is an approved highway tire. The MC shop that mounted my tire felt it was a good application on the Nomad with it's limited lean capability. Seeing that I pull a trailer made them feel even better about mounting the CT. My $240 Avon Cobra, which preceeded the SP 5000 only lasted 6k miles pulling the trailer for 95% of those miles. Wore the center flat out. I won't go as far as some on the Delphi forum who say that it handles better than a MC tire but IMO it does handle as well. Will I go back with a CT after this one finally wears out? You betcha. No reason to mount a MC tire until I'm ready to sell it.
