Nice work CJ! It's not what I was expecting....but nice nonetheless. Since my rear lightbar is more horizontal, I just had it in my head yours would be somewhat like that too. Bet it lights up very nicely!

Initially I thought of situating one light horizontally on each side, but there's enough curvature on the surface of the tourpack that they wouldn't have laid flat. Had I wanted to permanently use a Hoppy or other taillight converter, I would have had some other options. I found the dual element circuits and decided to give them a try.

Trunk looks great CJ. Lights look good but I do think you might want to do something with the gap between in the middle..another pair of lights, an LED strip, small horizontal strip of chrome, a Vulcan badge, a picture of BD, I am not sure...doesn't need much just something to break up the gap.

Maybe a Vulcan Badge centered and 3/4 of the way up (so the middle is even with the top of your new lights) ??

That is my .02 It would still look good if left alone. ...and remember...I am the guy that wears stripes with plaid and wears a pocket protector. ;)

I can't believe how much storage space you have now. Between the trailer, the trunk, and your saddlebags you may have to start parking in the RV section!

You only need a sidecar now and you are set.

Yeah, I haven't decided what to put there yet. I'm not very artistic or creative, so stuff like that doesn't come easily to me. Maybe I'll get another Nomad badge like on a windshield and put there.

Thanks for the suggestions.

An OEM backrest badge is about $40.00....that would look nice and it just sticks on. Just make sure you get it centered the first time....otherwise you will have some work to do. Don't ask how I know that.... ;)!

To quote my drill instructors from Marine Corps recruit training..."women wear pants, men wear trousers."

Funny how I can remember nearly every word that came out of their mouths, even 30 years later and I forget what my wife told me to pick up at Albertson's.

Been busy Scott..... Looks good, glad you like the step drill. Now if you have the soldering gun (Weller like) with the copper tips and set screws go pull the tip out and clean it and the holes it they go into well. Mine gets munged up from time to time too, and won't get hot..

Watch it with flame around glass based stuff! IF it goes all that's left is white glass fibers....

OT: I am looking into some LED lamps for a 1939 Ford... There is a compound curve where I want them and they are dead flat... Could be nice on saddle bags though... Stainless Steel bezzels too and polished bright....

I was using a pencil type soldering iron and even replacing the tip didn't help. I think it's the heating element that went south. It wasn't expensive and wasn't worth putting a lot of time into trying to fix it. My garage has a shortage of electrical outlets, so the butane iron will work great for me.

Never had that type of iron.. Don't know if it can be cleaned and fixed or not.. Used to be if man made it I could get it apart, but that isn't always true anymore.
