So not only do we have have to put u[p with horse sh*t in the middle of the roads , now we have to put up with flat tires too. ::)
I wonder if the phrase "sh*t Happens" originated in Amish country. ::) Sorry to hear of your troubles Tim, but at least you have had some nice folks helping you guys out.

Geez TC; you better stay at the motel and order in. I lived in Minonite country most of my life and that is the first time I have heard of that being a problem. Now I will be on the look out - however here they must ride on the shoulder of the road so the nails would most likely be there rather than on the hardtop.

Good luck on the rest of your journey -- take your time and be safe.

The best part of that whole story is Cindy laughing at you about the directions/GPS...I can just picture it.

Enjoy it and just go with the flow...I know, easier said than done......but like Bud said...this is what memories are made of.

I got in around 3pm on Sat. after staying over in Weston WV Fri. nite then riding through the Mountains over to Seneca Rocks then North on some nice Country roads through Virginia & Maryland and finally into Pennsylvania through Gettysburg and home. We hit some rain in West Virginia but the rest of the ride was nice. I had some nice rides in NC & Tenn but especially enjoyed that great southern cooking. We ate some terrific fried chicken at Granny's on Wed and had some more at the Buffet in Cherokee on Thurs.
You stayed over near some of my family. Great area to ride, as you well know from the Eastern Region Rally. Glad you made it home safely![/quote:uzt5eo5a]

;) Yep, West Virginia is definitely one of my favorite places to ride. Good roads, good food and nice people. ;) A tough combination to beat!

Rally return check in...

I know it is late checking in here but I did make it in safely. Arrived home about 4:30pm on Saturday. Had about 10 minutes of rain and then SUNSHINE the whole way back. I would like to thank Chris and Tom for joining me on my ride home. Someone abandoned me for the trip back (he will remain anonymous .... LOL :) ) Had a FREE room on our stop over in Fairmount. That is a long story but a great on. Too much to type to tell the story.

Thanks to Amy and Todd for the great RALLY and experience. I look forward to the next one.

Cindy and I got sick of riding in the rain so we got the bike back at 11:30 am and headed for the interstate. Rode 578 miles and got home at 9:30 pm.
You will not believe what the guy found in my tire. I have no idea what it is but would like some of your opinions.
Will post a pic in the morning. KJinda tired now and going to bed.

Good to see that everyone made it back unscathed. Al and I also ended up with a free room in Fairmont on the way home. The storm that night caused the A/C in the room to be flooded with water, it sounded like a drummer pounding in the room all night.
Then when I checked my luggage it was soaking wet from all the rain that had leaked into the room.
The motel was very good about it, and didn't charge us for the room that night.
