Oct may be tough to get in Helen. They celebrate Octoberfest and PACK THOUSANDS into that iddy biddy town! I don't know 'bout Sept., but I'm game for it.

There is a harvest moon on Sept 19 and equinox on the 22nd. One of the best rides I ever had in my life was on Highway 515 going to Blairsville, GA at about 01:00 with a full moon. Cold and bright and quiet, not a car in sight for about 25 miles.

The thought was crossing my mind but I had to do the drive and only realized how great it was after I was already doing it. Yes, Deer are always on my mind at night, and not just during rutting season.

The dragon at night.

It is an experience you will never forget, and will want to do again.

I'll be in Maggie Valley either in Sep or Oct, Sep will be better.

Gosh Y'all! I want to get together with everybody real bad, but my vacation schedule is unforgiving an I'm at the mercy of my boss and the pack of ass holes I work with. I'll try to make it work if I can.

I wish I could win a big lottery so we could do rally after rally after rally.

But winning a big lottery means big money, and big money attracts magazine cover model babes and I'm just subject to forget I even had a motorcycle should that ever happen.

So you'll be struck by lightning while being shark attacked twice before you'll spend the rest of your life at bike rallies if Kawhead wins a mega lottery. I hope y'all were not counting on me.

Speaking of deer and the odds of hitting the lottery, what do you figure the odds are of two separate owners of the same motorcycle hitting a deer with it? The PO of my Nomad hit a deer on it. He did some repairs, but I've gone through and erased the remaining evidence of it. If the odds are high enough, that would imply I would be pretty safe for that night ride! Add to those odds the fact that I took a deer out wit my Excursion about 3 years ago.

It just happens. I hit a deer about four years ago and then about six months later another one handed my ass to me.

I've never heard of a deer handing someone's ass to them before. But(t) I did find this:

I'd be more likely to knock than ring that doorbell......
