He's earned his bragging rights Glenn. He's got a great track record. I normally heal quickly but I give Dr. Maki all the credit on this one. I'm not going to risk another rupture by attempting something that I know I can't handle. What I'm afraid of is those instinctive reactions such as quickly reaching for something I've dropped or seeing someone having a rough time lifting or carrying something and jumping in to help. Or trying to hold the Nomad up if it begins to fall to the right. I just have to stay habit strength in using my left arm for heavy items. I've become a little paranoid of tearing or rupturing something in the left arm. Funny how your mind tends to control things it never had to before. It's all good and hoping it stays that way.

It was 1 year on February 24th that I ruptured the distal tendon in my dominant arm and a year on March 5th that it was surgically reattached with a titanium pin and retaining screw. I am happy to report that I have fully recovered and back to curling 50 lb dumbells. My surgeon told me on my last follow up visit in May 2012 that if my arm returned to normal it would be at least 1 year. At 10 months I was back to 100% with all numbness gone and full range of movement. Have all original strength back and then some. After a very painful injury and surgery we sometimes feel down and lose hope of getting back to normal. I had reached that point early, especially after getting hooked on oxycontin, and thought I would have to give up riding. Lots of prayers, patience, and a great surgeon can turn any injury around. Ride safely guys and never give up.

Glad to hear it Mitch. I have a terrible back and I need a shoulder replacement from injuries at work and years of abusing my body w boxing, muay thai and brazilian jiu-jitsu and I 'll never give up riding. I'd have to be drooling in a cup to give up the Nomad. Hope to see you again soon at one of the rallies. Going to the national and Antlers this year

I tore my right bicep tendon 2 years ago and never got it fixed. Simply because my arm didn't turn black and blue and still functioned. Now I have a funny looking bicep. My doctor said I should have had it fixed but it won't cause any issues in the future as long as I keep it exercised..fixing it now wouldn't help...

I'da never thought anything was wrong in the first place. No wonder it didn't take long to recover!
I hate being laid up.
