Rally return check in...

I left at 4:30AM made a stop in Knoxville to pick up a friend and we rode home; got there at 8:30 PM about 850 miles in 16hours. We hit heavy rain for a short time but the rest of the ride we got sunburns.

I didn't quite go far enough for in "Iron Butt" but should surely have earned a "Copper Bottom".

Todd, Amy and all that helped - a great success and accolades to you all - can't wait till next time.

I made it home at about noon on Sunday. Stayed Saturday night in Roscoe, Ill. with two of the nicest people I've ever known. That would be Greg and Kendra Wilson who took me into their home and made me feel comfortable and welcome. Greg is a member and one of the most ardent supporters of Kawanow and isn't even an owner of a Nomad. I had a great time meeting everyone and hanging with the other members of the North Central "Prairie Thunder Nomads". See you all at the next National Rally in '13.

Were all home safe & sound. ;)
I got in around 3pm on Sat. after staying over in Weston WV Fri. nite then riding through the Mountains over to Seneca Rocks then North on some nice Country roads through Virginia & Maryland and finally into Pennsylvania through Gettysburg and home. We hit some rain in West Virginia but the rest of the ride was nice. I had some nice rides in NC & Tenn but especially enjoyed that great southern cooking. We ate some terrific fried chicken at Granny's on Wed and had some more at the Buffet in Cherokee on Thurs.

We made it home Sunday, 10pm, after a long ride from St. Louis, MO to Dassel, MN, rode 730 miles in one day, our pb! We hit that storm in Lexington, TN, waited it out in a Subway store, power was knocked out just after we got our sandwich. Had to park the bike up against a store front so it wouldn't get blown over. Thanks to Todd and Amy for all your hard work and was great to see old friends and to meet new ones.

It appears all of our group that rode with us down to MV made it home safe -- except for hearing from BiscuitsNgravy and Badger & Otter.

I believe they were going to take their time heading back; so no surprise in not hearing from them yet.

Had a really great time. Thanks to Todd and Amy. Great job!

We made it home last evening about 7:30pm. We took our time and stayed off the interstates most of the time. We ducked around rain squalls mostly and enjoyed our great American land.

Thanks Amy and Todd for all your hard work and efforts. You made it great! We enjoyed old friends and made some new ones. Also, thanks for all the kindnesses from our brothers and sisters after my crash. All is well. BiscuitsNGravy

You stayed over near some of my family. Great area to ride, as you well know from the Eastern Region Rally. Glad you made it home safely!

I am glad that I decided to run down to MV to see all of my old friends. It worked out great with my trip to Ohio.

Todd and Amy did a great job as others have said. Kudos to both of you.

I made it home on Saturday afternoon. Left MV early on Thursday morning and bedded down for the night in Junction City, Ks....930 miles away. The second day I took a detour to Colorado Springs to visit with Audiogooroo for a short time. Had to sit out a massive thunderstorm under a motel portico. That storm put down about 3 inches of hail in 10 minutes. A snow plow came by to clear the highway before I got back on the road. Made it to Cheyenne, Wy that night and then the last 500 miles on Saturday was a piece of cake. Beautiful weather, cool, wore my leather jacket all day Saturday.

It was great seeing all of you that I could catch up with. I look forward to the next one.

:(" title="" border="0"/> Cindy and I are sitting in a freekin' motel room in Ohio for the second day in a row.
Monday we ran into a thunder and lightning storm.
Rode in it for 30 miles with no sign of let up. We covered 65 miles total Monday and said screw this and got a motel. We were right, it didn't let up.
Today we covered about 70 miles and I got a flat rear tire. Called road side assistance and AMA told me I was not a member. My card says I am a member till April of 2012 :(" title="" border="0"/> They will hear from me when I get home.
I carry a plug kit and compressor but tried 3 times to plug the tire and it would not stop leaking. The guy who lives in the house I stopped in front of tried to plug it also, did not hold either.
He had a trailer and was kind enough to haul my bike to a bike shop 35 miles away. They ordered a tire and should be in tomorrow between Noon and 3 PM.
Needless to say I am getting a little tired of all the rain and other delays.
Cindy and I decided to go get something to eat so we punched a restaurant into the GPS. We are in a city we know nothing about. As we get half way to the restaurant, on a four-lane highway, I say where to now. She says, I don't know the line disappeared. At this point I am nervous as hell and Cindy is laughing uncontrollably. At least one of us was having a good time.
Stopped and asked for directions back to the motel ::)
Having a great time, wish you were here. ;)

The guy who helped me said the horses that pull the Amish buggy's in this area lose horse shoe nails and there have been a lot of people getting flat tires on there vehicles :(" title="" border="0"/>
So not only do we have have to put u[p with horse sh*t in the middle of the roads , now we have to put up with flat tires too. ::)

Geez TC... sounds like you are not having good luck.

At least you are retired and don't have a time-clock to punch... otherwise you would be a lot less excited about your delays!!

Ride safe!
