custom full faring - Page 4

got the 1 1/4" handlebars mocked up today
I think they got potential

I bent the bars up to help clear the faring. otherwise I would send them strait up and curve them out and back at the top

I have to figure out how to get the angles and bends exact on both up tubes and im going to extend the 1 1/4" tube all the way to the bar clamp on the bottom and add a piece in the middle I knurled the pipe under the clamps to

Why don't the riser clamps clamp tight? You're using 1" bar at the bottom, right? That looks great. A solid piece all the way up and 1 1/4" bar all the way in to the risers will finish it off nicely.

Well Im running out of winter real quick
so im going to get the faring ruffed in with all the brackets and dimensions done. Then build me a stand that I can mount it on and put the bike back together so I can ride
that will give me about 2 months to get it finished and ready to paint. and have the inner done with all the whistles and bells mounted. then take a week vacation and take it back apart and paint it. Dosent sound like a very fun vacation. but it has to be done. If all goes well it should be a killer custom

got to looking at it and desided it need to be about 4" farther forward and I needed to put back the material I cut off the back

I glued cardboard to the outside of the faring

Laid the glass over the cardboard covered in tape(rosin wont soak through masking tape)

Just that easy

with 1" pipe slid inside for the clamps and controls
the clamp areas are knurled as well
I will be offering them painted in whatever color wanted
personally i'm not a big fan of powdercoat on a custom set of bars

When I get a set finished I will post pics and info on the"for sell" thread

I had Pyle speakers in my fairing and they worked ok, I blew them within a year though and replaced them with Sony Xlod speakers. they seemed better.
