Sorry, I give a shit about any Harley. If I would be concerned about riding with them, get one, but not for me - never ever ! Perhaps a Roadmaster in a few years - they don't sell the voyager anymore in Germany. By the way, mine is doing 110 mph in 5th gear (top speed will be reached only in 5th gear as manual stated) without any problems on the German autobahn. Stock bike, only K&N Airfilter and last baffle drilled out.

Cu,
Sven

Jim.. nice hearing from you. How many miles on the Beamer now? I have 57,000 on the ST. Still running like a champ.

I’ve been really bad about riding. After the pulleys on the throttle bodies broke, I took the car to work and riding became a rarity. The headlight connectors have deteriorated and need replacement. Maybe I’ll do that today. I won’t ride it without low beams. I bought some led head lights to replace them. Bad thing is I have to take the whole nacelle off the bike. I really want to see how 115lbs less affects the performance.

As long as an Ivanized Voyager can safely merge into highway traffic, pass other vehicles reasonably easy, and go long distances at 80-85 without working too hard that'll be fine.
Yep, me too. Riding in large groups is dangerous and unpredictable. I don't care to place my destiny in the hands of others. I used to ride with a meetup group and after a few close calls and some real tragedies (including deaths and dismemberments), I quit. I'll ride with a few buddies from work or with the Various Bagger crew, but otherwise I prefer solo.

There were a few occasions where under hard acceleration it seemed the Voyager struggled to keep pace with the Harley, though perhaps that could be attributed to my not being familiar enough with a Voyager to get the most out of it.

Assuming many if not most of you ride with folks on H-Ds and others in the 900 lb. bagger/touring segment, do you find it's capable of keeping up? I've seen comments about Ivanizing that suggest "yes" when that's done, but was also wondering about Voyagers in stock form. I'm pretty certain this was a non-Ivanized bike since it seemed kinda rough and pokey at low rpm.

By the way, riding the non-ABS model confirmed I want the ABS model. Braking on the ABS model just seemed much more settled with less reliance on engine braking for me at least.
The Voyager accelerates hard if you let it rev, but it runs out of steam at 80. I couldn't keep up with a 103 touring Harley back in 2011.

Then I bought my 103 road glide ultra. It pulls much harder than the Voyager and is much smoother pulling hills at lower RPMs. The Voyager is happier when you stay above 3000 RPMs.

I put 60,000 miles on my Voyager.

I believe that if you want to run with the "Big Hogs", you need a "Big Hog".

It's not like your on a Z125 compared to the HDs, So what if they are faster you will not be far behind. Stop signs , stop lights and traffic equal out the equation anyway. Have fun and BE SAFE. Cost of ownership and maintenance more than balances the other parts of equation. IMHO

Righto - and I just called my insurance to get an idea of what coverage similar to what I have now would be and it'd be just a little bit more than my Bandit. So yeah, cost of ownership seems reasonable.

All depends on how fast YOU want to ride. Rode side by side with my Brother from Arkansas to North Carolina and back...07 1600 classic.

Hey Grizz

How have you been? How is the Wing treating you?

You are right, it all depends on how fast you want to ride.

In my opinion the real issue with having more power is more in merging and passing. All these bikes will cruise well at 5/10 over the speed limit. More power = safer.

On a side note I got pulled over in my car yesterday for doing 73 in a 55 and driving continuously in the left lane. I kind of chuckled because there was nobody else on the highway and I was speeding so why wouldn't I be in the fast lane 😅😅.

He was a very nice officer, ran my driver's license and let me go with a warning. Do you think I should have told him that was my fourth warning this month😎

Wow, soooo fast 73mph = 118 Kph - Did you had the parking brake engaged ?

We do that on nearly every country road. On the german autobahn, at 200mph you have no friends !

Sorry, couldnt resist !
