I have the HD and bought it off a member, along with his tour pack. I had little to do with the gauges or anything. I just helped "strobe" install it. I have a website of his for you to look at. Maybe that will help you.
http://nomad.strobel.ws/hdfairing.php
I still have 2 small "holes" to fill. Maybe an oil temp. and water temp. gauges one day. I use the bluetooth radio through the speakers n the fairing but, as of yet I haven't been able to sync it with my SENA headset. Instead I have a dongle bluetooth hooked to my ipod and it streams nicely to the headset. I love the HD fairing. I stayed with the stock mirrors BTW, Let me know if I can help in any way.
Thanks rickyboy, that is a beautiful machine you have there. The more I look at the HD fairing the more I like the cut of its jib!

There is a lot of useful info in that website of "Strobe's"
Would you happen to know if there is much of a difference between this install on the '05 1600 and the '03 1500 that I have apart from the 1" difference in the width of the forks that ringadingh mentioned?

The mounting method would be very similar, but the actual measurements will be different. If I replace the fairing on my bike this is the route I'll be taking as well.
Im talking with someone about a fairing now, that I am interested in.

Meant to say I got a reply to my email to Chuckster, almost instantly I might add and it looks like I can remain in budget if I go for the HD fairing.
Its getting to look more and more like this is the way to go for me!
IF I can locate the fairing that is!
Still waiting for a reply from WideOpenCustom but then its still early over there while its getting dark here now and will soon be time to head home from the office.

I'd be very interested in hearing how you get on ringadingh with your quest!
Is eBay the best place to look for one?

Hi Steve,...No, the lower section I think you're talking about is removed.
I'm sorry but I don't know the size of the speakers. Stock size as far as I know.

Thanks for your nice comment on the Nomad "Caddyman".
I don't think you'd be unhappy with the HD fairing. Depends greatly on if you want to do the gauges or not. If not go with one of the many aftermarket ones that have cut outs for speakers and a radio. I know a member that just has the outer fairing and it looks just fine. Just depends on your wants and needs.
Strobe is a smart guy and did a great job on the fairing project.
I wouldn't know for sure about the difference between a 1500 and a 1600 but like Steve wouldn't think there would be too much as far as measurement differences. Good luck with the project and keep us posted.

It will definately be in the warmer weather if I do decide to get another fairing, its too cold to play in the garage lately.
Id say Ebay is one of the best places to look, Try a HD dealer as well, they may have something laying around.

They are both stock sizes Ricky, it just depends on the age of the fairing, the newer ones are 6 1/2"

Heres another brand that give you some choice, they also make Tour Paks and sidebags.

Thanks ringadingh, they also look great but kinda expensive especially since I got a couple of quotes from eBay sellers saying it will cost around $450 to ship their fairings to me!
EDIT. I just had another look at this site and they are quoting $95 shipping to Ireland!! This might be a real option after all!

By the way since you are still up maybe you'd have a look at this for me
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1406790497...84.m1423.l2649 and let me know what you think? I presume its from an Ultra but will a 2008 fit my Nomad?
Its 4:15am here and I am having one of those nights where I can't fall asleep but I'm gonna give it another try in a few minutes! Nighty night, I hope to get some ZZZzzzz...

Caddyman --- That will fit fine. EG/Electra Glide/Ultra are all the same (although they now have a Road Glide Ultra...differences in the fairings will be VERY obvious between Road Glide and Electra Glide). Good price if all it really needs is some body putty work and paint.

Thanks for looking at it for me Monkeyman. All I need now is a good deal on the shipping to Ireland and hopefully it won't go to a stupid price :)

Odd. It's on the eBay UK site but lists that it's in Virginia, USA. Not sure if the seller ships to Ireland or not. If not, there might be someone living in VA (or close to it) who could have it shipped to them then ship it to you. Dunno how that would work as I don't think I've ever shipped anything over there.

Be careful about the shipping with that fairing, the seller shows it shipping by UPS, That can get extremely expensive as the courier shows up at your door demanding brokerage and taxes on the item. I wouldn't buy anything unless it is shipped by USPS only, the cheapest method that weve found.
