2 or 3 months of cold? I can remember, when I was stationed at Ft.Campbell and living in Clarksville, riding year round. But, I'm from CT and when and when I got my mc license back in 76 used to have to ride in the winter, cuz I didn't have a car, lol.

Most years, you are right. This winter has been crazy cold. Hardly any snow, but we have stayed below freezing for weeks at a time, seen a lot of single digit temps, wind chill below zero.

I actually worry more about the black ice than the cold. I hit a patch on the interstate going to work. Nothing like feeling the entire bike starting to slide out from under you at 75! Lucky me, I cleared the ice before I was on the ground.

I hear ya, plus it's no fun having to dress up like the Michelin man, just so you can say you rode. I am so finished with this winter, now calling for another possible 6 inches tomorrow, ugh!

Ouch! I thought it was bad when the temps dropped into the low 50's at night.

Not ever gonna happen but I bet not too many other 1700's have more miles than I do.

Plus I believe in the future a new Indian will replace the Vaq...someday.

You are probably correct about your mileage. You have to ride year round to do that kind of mileage and we not that lucky here in Ontario.
