Rally Attendance

I'd like to remind everyone of a couple things. First...everyone in attendance needs to fill out the waiver form and the ICE info form as well. These will need to be turned into myself or Greg Schoenkopf (schoeney) as soon as you arrive. There are links to both forms in the main rally thread....

http://www.vulcanbagger.com/phpBB3/v...ic.php?t=11583

The other thing to keep in mind is that one of our day rides is up through Glacier National Park and over Logan Pass via the Going to the Sun Road. That road will have summer re-construction projects here and there and may/will require delays of varying lengths. This ride will be an all-day affair and could even go into the early evening before we make it back to Kalispell. Just be aware of that and be ready to roll with the punches that day!

I'm stoked that such a great turnout seems likely, with more last minute additions I'm sure.... ! Ride safe!

hey Kris

I had a look through the main rally thread and didn't see any details about the rally rides. Did I miss that? Could you point it out if I missed it or maybe give some details on the route, duration and mileage.
Thanks :)

Mike

Mike,
I know you are old....but you ain't THAT old. That info is hiding in plain sight. Under the Rally Itinerary it lists the events for each of the three days, with a link to the map routes for each. Check again....then you will feel like that guy in those commercials....."Wanna get away....??"

Everyone should also know that MT 49, from East Glacier to St. Mary, is a really cool ride since it is so twisty , but it is narrow and has broken pavement in a few spots so the 12 miles down that road is fairly slow riding.

Looks like we will have to back out of the rally. Funny how things in your life change the direction you. We will be going to Alaska to visit our daughter and grandkids. Just too many things on our plate for this summer and we have to trim a few things out.

I also may have the unusual pleasure of driving down the Alaska Hwy with my grandson, who will be 16 this summer. His mom is thinking of buying him a car up there, and it will have to be driven back down to Texas, where his lives with his dad. He'll have his learner's permit, and I figure that by the time we get to Texas, he'll turn out to be a great driver. Great experience, and once in a lifetime.

Sorry to back out, but other priorities, ya know. We've had to back out of a number of things this summer. Woulda been fun, too.

I would take the trip to Alaska too; there will be more rallies but the once in a lifetime experience is more important. Have fun and be safe.

It is unfortunate that these two events conflict on the calendar but you are making the right decision. Family first and what a great adventure for you two to share. Just make sure he keeps his eyes on the road and hands on the wheel. Drive safe.

My +1 got out of her August military drill today so we will be staying and riding home. Probably through Lolo with Netnorske.
