My experience with my last Daylong seat on my Nomad was that it took a little while for it to become more comfortable, maybe 2 or 3 long rides.

Went for my 2nd ride on new saddle, as it was 59 and sunny again!! Very enjoyable, but I think I need to have it adjusted as I seem to be sliding forward quite a bit. Our roads are nice and twisty, up and down, so there is plenty of moving on the saddle. Seems like my pants end up a bit snug in the front, if you know what I mean ... Wondering if they can tip the seating position back a bit. Other than that, gorgeous setup!

Doorbell rang at 12:30 today and sitting on my doorstep was a large box from Russell! Kim called for my cc# on Jan 30 so that delivery to Newmarket Ontario was real quick. The seats look great. Ran out and put them on the bike. It's only 18F here today so I only had time for a quick sit. First impression is the seat looks smaller than what I recollect seeing it on other bikes. Second impression is that I'm sitting up much higher. We'll see in the Spring how it ends up after I've had a chance to break it in a little. My endless thanks to Mike for everything you did to make this group buy happen. Here's a few pics;

They can make some adjustments if necessary. When I ordered mine for the FJR, I told them up front that if I slid forward in the seat they would be getting it back. They got it right the first time as I never slid forward unless I intended to.

The seat doesn't really sit you higher, it just gives you the impression you are higher. The wings are under your upper thighs now. While it gives you great support while riding, it prevents your legs from dropping straight down beside the bike when stopped like you did in the stock seat.
With the stock seat on the FJR, I always rode with it in the high position. With the RDL, I dropped it back in the low position. Each time you stop with the RDL on that bike, slide slightly forward of the wings and you will be able to get your feet down more securely. Once you get used to sliding forward of the wings on a stop, you won't notice the difference as much. I have to slide forward slightly now on my Voyager if I want to be able to put my feet flat on the ground. Quote:

Got a call from Kim asking for my CC #, and it's shipping back to upstate NY as I write this! She did say they've been very busy and are running behind schedule... which didn't hurt me any while I wait for Spring.
With any luck I hope to be testing it out by early March (assuming winter fades away like I hope). Thanks again Mike for doing the leg work on this group buy. All my sport bike buddies are teasing me about putting a "tractor seat" on my Sprint GT, but having had a Russell on my Honda ST before sold me on them a long time back. I'm convinced I'll be going tank-to-tank-to-tank now. |

Received my seat yesterday and it looks great. Now... looking for about 50 degrees warmer and a lot less snow and ice so I can actually try it out. Thanks Mike!!!!

It was my pleasure! Be sure to post pictures of your RDL on the Limited. Never seen one on a Harley. Since the Limited is on my short list for my next motorcycle, I am very interested in seeing it.

My shipping was a litle less than expected. The Voyager seats came in at just under $600, plus $78 to ship them to California.
