Then again I might like it hotter than you like it. . . Heh, Heh, Heh.
Humidity in Iowa might be 40-70% at those temperatures. I don't like heat, nor cold. The best place I have been so far is Santa Cruz. 50 at night, 65-70 during the day, low humidity. To me that is perfect. The problem is it's California. Sedona was nice as far as scenery, but what would someone do there (my wife loved it)? Second choice for me would be the I25 corridor between Denver and Colorado Springs.

Beginning of the end.

I still remember at the Kawanow Western Rally in 2008 when we were returning from Mt. Zion and descending in to Mesquite, it was 119 degrees. At 70 mph it felt like someone was holding a heat gun on my hands. I had to pull over and put gloves on to protect my hands....from the heat! That was a first for me. I can also remember drinking around 2 gallons of water that day, and never having to pee.

It takes a bit of effort, but it works better if you can keep the gloves wet. :)

Lots of homes for sale in San Tan Valley, which is east of me. As housing prices skyrocketed in the early 2000's, land became scarce and expensive so developers bought cheap land on the fringes of the metro area. Places like San Tan Valley and Maricopa sprung up. There's tons of available homes in those areas now. My son and his wife were looking to buy a house in Maricopa 6-7 years ago and the prices were jumping by $10,000 a month.
On Redfin this morning prices in the area we are shopping were as low as $13,900.00 for a 3 bed 1.5 bath. There are several properties below $30,000.00. That's just for central Phoenix north of McDowell.

At those prices they all need some level of repair, but that's what I do. :)
That's a pretty rough area, you're likely to have to put up with a lot of vandalism/theft if you're rehabbing homes in a number of places in the valley. A year or so ago there was a crew going around to foreclosed homes, stealing the appliances and plumbing fixtures and selling them on Craigslist.

I'll never forget that either. Coming through the Virgin River Canyon was like riding through an oven.

Acclimate?.... More about restructuring your time to take what nature gives you. Get up early, take breaks and drink water til you can't drink anymore, work til you can't stand the sweat burning your eyes which is usually about 2:30 and take a siesta so you can work a bit more as the sun goes down. Worked til 3:30 today. We had a breeze. Don't stay out in it any more than absolutely necessary. Back to work after six at things less strenuous and preparing for tomorrow.
