Winter Snow Blowers

The mossberg works great, but for only a little more, you can get a Remington 870 with the same setup, at least you can here in the states. My brother in law had a 870 pump with the smooth slug barrel and rifle sights. I could hit an index card at 60-70 yards offhand all day. The new stuff with rifled barrel and specialty ammo is probably even better.

Winter Snow Blowers

I just seen some 870's in a Dicks sporting goods flyer earlier today. It sounds like what I need. If it has a rifled barrel for slugs, and a smooth one for steel shot I'll be happy.
Ive used my model 12 Winchester but I hate shooting steel shot through it.

Winter Snow Blowers

I would imagine shooting a duck with a 308 would have the about same results as a duck getting caught in a snowblower. Pure sport as nothing much could be edible... unless you were a heck of a shot and got it in the head. If such were the case we would require pics video as proof. ;) On the fly of course. Only sporting.

Ya'll can keep the snow and the moose. I'll step on the scorpions and buy neighbors cow to butcher.

I had my 308 in to the gunsmith and he got it all working good.
There was a recall on the firing pin and I had him adjust the gas cylinder, as it sometimes jammed on me.
I shot it while duck hunting and I put 8 shots within 1 1/2" of the bullseye, all a bit left and low. Thats close enough for anything I'll be aiming at.
The picture is of my son trying my Winchester for the very first time. He did pretty good for a lefty, all three shots hit the target in a 2" group.

I wasn't duck hunting with the 308, I don't think Im that good to try that. I just had that rifle there with me so I could sight it in for my moose hunt. I use my model 12 for ducks, but Im keeping my eyes open for something that has a steel shot rated barrel.
