A GPS has its most value to me in knowing what the curves and twists ahead of me are like.

I spend most of my riding time on twisties that I have never been on (or not often enough to have them memorized).

There is an advantage the GPS provides in knowing what is on the other side of the corner when hills and such block the view. It allows you to ride it a bit more aggressively.

Personally, I don't see the need for a GPS. I'd rather use a good old fashioned map. Sometimes I just like to throw in an extra can of gas and see where the road comes out, that's half the fun....
But sometimes you don't know where you are located on the map. Sometime on the spaghetti bowl of smaller roads up in the Sierra that happens to me, and the GPS helps me get oriented.

As for the Garmin Zumo if you have the $$ for a unit like that, fine. I wish I had a Ferrari, too. But the Nuvi series uses the same maps, is just as accurate, and (AFAIK) has all the Nuvi features except bluetooth connectivity to a headset and waterproofness. The latter can be remedied with a ziploc bag at next to no cost. Garmin also advertises that the Zumo touch screen works with gloves...well, guess what, so does the Nuvi. The Garmin marketing dept. conveniently forgot to point that out. I wonder why...

have a Nuvi 765 LMT life time maps and traffic use a ram mount and a ziplock bag if it starts to rain or take it off and stick it in the side bag.

I do like the mp3 player and the ability to hear it on my bluetooth headset, but they are way overpriced IMO. I have the zumo 660
