New to KawaNOW ... LOOKING for a NOMAD

Welcome to KawaNOW, gregg......beer's in the frig.

You had a very nice Valk. I plan on getting one in a couple of years to ride along with my Nomad. I hope there are some Interstate's left when I'm ready to buy.

Loved the Valk. Only drawback is if you are long legged, your knees will be bent back pretty far to keep your feet in position behind the cylinders. I'm looking forward to the "feet forward" riding position of a Nomad.

I think low mileage Valkyrie Interstates are going to become harder and harder to find. Especially pristine stock painted ones. Unfortunately I heard that the gent who bought mine had an accident while riding it home to WA. A car made a left turn in front of him and he T-Boned it. He's alright, only a broken arm, but the Valk totaled. He's buying it back and fixing it so I guess he liked it.

If all goes well later today, I will begin posting my thoughts on my Nomad shortly.

Welcome from NW Indiana, great to have you on board. Your Valk was/is a beautiful bike. I was actually looking for one of those while looking for the Nomad and after reading your story, I'm glad I found the Nomad first. I too and 6'4 with bad knees and lots of time you don't find out about some issues until you've ridden for a couple hours.

It's here .....

I picked it up Tuesday. So far I've done more chrome polishing than riding. I need to baseline it and then get out on it this weekend. Everything works, no unusual noises and 6887 miles. I'm very excited

Probably the last time it will be photographed stock. I already have some chrome ordered.

Greg, welcome from south Texas. I too have a 2000 Nomad. Bought mine about 18 months ago with 6000 miles on it. Now I have 21K and no problems. Made may changes and every one just makes it better and better. Once you get around to intake and exaust mods with a fuel processor you will really be happy with the performance.

Enjoy, and ride long, ride often. Again, Welcome!
