We use the helmet at work. Mostly city riding. I find they work real well in the winter :) not so much in the summer.

It's very comfortable for speeds below 40MPH. After that forget it. So, I found that HD sells comm pouches which you can mount to a beanie style helmet. I did that and it works wonderfully. Now I have one beanie style with comm, and one without. As for the Vulcan helmet, I don't know what I'm going to do about it.
That's interesting. I'm not experiencing any exceptional buffeting when wearing the Vulcan helmet at any speed. Since I installed the large lowers I bought from chuckster1_31 a few months ago, buffeting is mostly a thing of the past. You might try tweaking your windscreen height. I have 3 various half helmets I use depending on conditions and have no buffeting issues to speak of.

Since going to the half helmet, that is what I wear all the time. When it is cold, I zip in the weather flap. I have ridden with it in 20 degree weather and felt good. I do not notice the air vents too much when it is really warm but when it is cold, I can tell the difference. Once closed, my head feels better.
