Did they knock you out when they took it off?

When I broke my ankle I had an external fixator installed with 4 long screws into the bone. When I developed the bone infection my doctor had to remove it before I could start the treatment.

Have you ever had a stuck screw in wood? Well that's what it felt like when the 1st screw broke loose!! Lord I never felt pain like that before and I had 3 more to go!! If I had to do it over again, I'd have checked into the hospital and had them knock me out. I'll never forget that pain.

There was a women in the room with me that had the fixators on her wrist, they don't look comfortable at all. The pins and screws hurt more than the original break getting installed by a long shot. I'll find out tomorrow how easy my pins come out. Im due in the hospital at 7:30am.

I opted for the knockout. I have a high pain threshold but I'm not a glutton for punishment. Your right about the install being worse than the break in the first place. I became right religious about my medication.

Best wishes and prayers for your recovery Ringadingh.

They pulled the pins out this morning and all went well, I was in the operating room at 9am, and home by noon. They knocked me out, and I didn't feel a thing. Its sure a lot better taking the parts out than it is installing them. The wrist is pretty stiff and will take a bit to get it moving again, but Im working on it.

Maybe he should go higher. Steve was already at the 12 oz level at MV and I lost count of the repetitions, but he could do quite a few.
