I need to wash mine too.

As for retirement, I would be in line to retire in 5 years, but my wife and I got a little frisky a while back, and my youngest son is 8. Dam those fast swimmers.

Cleaning Nomad Wheels

Bought my 07 in June. Haven't washed the wheels yet. Bike gets washed every time I get home after a ride. Wheels, I don't plan on ever washing them. I guess White Walls are out of the question

Cleaning Nomad Wheels

After removing the bags and the passenger seat, I use my $59.99 Harbor Freight motorcycle lift (ITEM 2792-4VGA) and jack it up just high enough for both wheels to clear the ground. Then, with a bucket of car wash soap and a mitt, I can easily turn the wheels as I clean them. With the seat off I can also clean a lot easier around top part of the fender. I only do this when the whole bike is really dirty.

I just take a BIG wash rag and jam it up along side the wheel. Sometimes move the bike a few feet to get that hard to get to part.

I only wash the rear wheel about every 3 washes, then I pull the bags. I wear a fleece mitten and dip it in soapy water. It gets in all the nooks real well.

Remove the bags and try "Bike-Brite". You just spray and rinse. I just use it on hard to get to places. Its about 10 bucs a bottle. But it works.

[quote:9bb0kuea]Does anyone have any suggestions on how to clean the wheels. There is so much stuff in the way that I find it difficult, especially the rear. I do pull off the bags but it is still a pain. JohnR
Got any kids that like to ride with Dad? Sounds like a good toll for ride time. Dear daughter Sarah helps me clean my bike. [/quote:9bb0kuea]

Bike-Brite or similar product -- spray and rinse. I use a leaf blower to dry it off spot free. Of course Grandkids are a great alternative!!
