I suggest you move to Alabama. 20 degree with ice from 2 AM. to 8 AM. and 60 degree by 1 pm and dry. Any snow 1 inch deep at night will turn to solid ice when the first tire rolls over it and gone with no trace by 12pm.

There is no substitute for laminar flow in which a helmet is the primary disturbance.

Wish I could move there. But the reality is the Tow is scheduled for Monday afternoon. Sad day to see my first bike in 45 years of riding go on a trailer.

NO it does not need to be towed, It runs. Just not safe to ride in the ice.

Pics to follow, Same bat time, same bat channel.

You're showing your age.

Sunday before the superbowl: After an hour and a half of shoveling ,braking ice I got out of the driveway. Handles so/ so on slush, but it was better than ice.
* Never used the brakes or turned till I was off the slush.
Got it ready to tow. Then I found a ride back from the dealer, which was closed but I went anyway. 43f and I rode 50 miles. Piece of cake ride in that weather. Only needed chaps, left my Tourmaster 2.0 Winter pants at home.

The Bike is now in the shop. Finally. Clutch fork /Second gear replacement and Head bearings. Should be done by Mid March and I will be back on the road, weather permitting ( NO Snow)

Man, Sunday was sunny and just 29 at 7 am but when I rode my bike to church at 10:30, we were at 53 degree. 12pm it was 60 and by 3pm 68. I racked up about 200 miles all 2 lane country roads. Bike were out in full force. Man did it feel good.

Glad you got to ride But I wish you clearer roadways.

A year ago last december, I got off work at 1m and we got about an inch of ice covered with an inch of snow, and I rode in that day. Rode the bike home, kept it at 30-35mph the whole 5.5 miles home. The only times I felt it slip any, twice, was when coming to a stop, just as I stopped, the front wheel slipped about an inch or so to one side. This was on my 2012 Voyager ABS that I'm double darkside on.

That is some scary stuff. Butt puckering, been there. Glad you got home safe.

These are the concerns with ABS, you loose them at the slow speeds=stopping at a stop sign or light. You come in slow and finally have to stop. Now with the K-ACT how does that affect it??

I have driven through a snow storm on I-40 outside of Amarillo, TX with 35 cars off the road, ( Made the news) and me on the bike. No issues but I did not have ABS or K-ACT. Plus the bike was a Honda 500 CX Custom= 500 LBs. Butt Fully Puckered the whole way. And it was a shaft drive, lots of drag on the rear end in coasting.
