My 2000 1500 came with the rails already on front and back. Never had an issue. 60K plus miles and 13 years. Still looks great. I wasn't so sure about them at first, but after getting the 1600 with the chrome fender tips. I think I like the rails better. But, I'm not changing the 1600.

I was looking for the front fender rail K53020-171C last summer, lot's of Google listings but when you try to order one they aren't available. No longer manufactured. I spoke with a dealer that gave me a list of 4 dealers that claimed to have them in stock, of the 4 dealers only 1 actually had one and it took me until January to finally confirm that he had it.
Had it shipped to CBI in Niagara Falls and picked it up last month, along with several other things. You can't find one on eBay, unless you see it the minute it gets listed. You'll just have to be diligent and keep looking or get lucky. |

Thats the one I'm talking about, I'd like a new one as well since mine got damaged. I use CBI as well it, it comes in real handy at times.
