CJ I did the same thing but got the 10.1" Samsung Galaxy Note. Not as useful as a laptop but a lot easier to pack around.

BD- That phone is huge! I like it. Probably my next one too.

After using the Note 2 for about 6 months most other phones, including the i-phone seem unpractical for me. If you use the phone for more than talk/text the extra size is awesome.

I've got the local morning news show on and they are showing the Appleheads waiting in line for the Apple Store to open so they can be the first to buy the iPhone 5S. Pathetic...

The battery is amazing. That's one of it's strengths. It has a 3100mAhm compaired to 1430mAhm, which is what the iphone, and most phones have. I am a very heavy user and it's never not lasted the full day.

I don't have a lot of accessories. I have a Zagg HD screen protector and I keep it inside this wallet.

I do more than talk and text on my S3 so with the larger battery and much bigger phone this should be the ticket! I also have "dish" TV app so I can watch shows anywhere either through 4G LTE or WIFI. I've been doing that on my S3 but the screen is kind of small.

I just did the IPhone Software upgrade today before ever reading this. I figured it was just an OS upgrade like any other. It took forever and when it was complete...none of my apps were where they should have been, but mostly I was instantly convinced whoever designed the new look and colors of the screens is totally and flamingly gay..... Wish I would have left it well enough alone. I am due for a phone upgrade, but just kind of putting it off. I have a 16MB IPhone 4...kind of archaic I know....but it was my first foray into smartphone-land. I do know this...it is very difficult for my old eyes to read anything on that damn phone and I would love a little bit larger screen.

Keep in mind that if you do upgrade to iOS7 and want to roll back, you'll only be able to do so while Apple keeps signing the old iOS 6 firmware. That usually stops within a couple of weeks after a new release. When it does, you're stuck on the latest and greatest with no way to downgrade.

Take a look at the S3 or even the Note II if you have larger hands like I do. I have the Note II and LOVE it. No more glasses to read my email, and I get all day battery life with a few tweaks to OS.

If you have questions on the Galaxy line and the OS, shoot me a note - I'm fairly active in the developer community.
