When thinking about the comments... I wonder if any of them have ever even been near a drag-bike... let alone ridden one.

Arm-chair quarterbacks I guess....
they don't know shit about dragbikes or dragracing at all
as for the shoes comment. If the guy had asked me why I was wearing tennis shoes I would have told him, Yeah from a fashion stand point it looks hoky I even wish I had had my simpson shoes on that day. But from a safety stand point There are about 101 different ways to get hurt on a drag bike there are maybe two that involve what kind of footwear you have on. and they were maybe 99 or 100 on the list. As for the dude with the snarky remarks about my weight and the only leathers I could aford, Dont Know Him, and as it stands right now Dont Want To Know Him

Or just didn't look at this thread for a while. . .

Sorry if I was offensive, I have about 50 pounds I'd like change from gut to muscle too.

Maybe I misunderstood the question, should that have been, "What's right with this photo?" Then I might have said, "Nice drag bike, He's in for one heck of an adrenaline rush." or I may have noted that you look ready to take another run.

While you're out shooting the messenger, don't forget to sight up the one that posted your pic on a forum known for harboring a bunch of smart a$$e$ like me. And the one who suggested "What's Wrong?"

Meanwhile (for your entertainment) take a look at my avatar! Yea, that's really me . . . What's wrong with that picture? . . . (Go ahead, I won't be offended . . . It's just a biker forum)

Just for the record, I've done some racing, just not much winning. Nice sport, but too expensive for me. Between broken bikes and broken bones I decided to go for the easy rides.

If I'm reading the above post correctly, it implies that Don should have
known better than to post this picture is his album.
Due to the fact that this site is full of smart-asses.
I would have expected better from the smart-asses on this forum.

No doubt there is plenty of ribbing that goes on here.
Nothing wrong with that, it's all in fun. I enjoy it.

And I agree that this thread should never have been started.
But common courtesy shouldn't be tossed out the window since it was,
or because it's only a biker forum.
I read the question as well, I chose not to answer it.

I thought this was beyond joking around.
And believe the comments made were inappropriate.
You said you were sorry, and I've said enough.

Dave, I don't think you read that right.
What was implied was the original poster on this thread should have known better, not Don.

Wow, this whole thread was in poor taste. Methinks *someone* owes Dmyers an apology.

Yes you did. My comment wasn't directed at you, Mark.

Ya know, I was trying not to get involved with this one.... But that's not gonna happen
Don (and anyone else who chooses to ride in whatever they have) really doesn't need your approval to race in whatever he feels appropriate. It's his drag bike, he paid for it with his money, and they're his feet. He knows exactly what risks he is taking, as he stated if he wrecks that beast, it doesn't matter what he is wearing on his feet. That is all i'll say on that perticular issue.
On the comments of weight...... Dude seriously? You don't think there's anything about you people could take and run with, maybe your short, maybe you have a big nose, maybe your balding, or suffer from ED. WHO KNOWS. but calling someone out over somthing that is quite possibly out of their control is completly unsatisfactory. You don't have to agree with me, or like what I'm saying, (mark, thank you for appologizing, the rest isn't directed at you) but you should ashamed of yourself. You owe don appology. Remeber, karma is a bitch.

The only thing that bothered me about this thread in the first place was bob put the same photo in the boots thread and basically made the same comment and after I had all ready replied to it in the boots thread, He opened this thread
So I thought " What A Dick!!" Made a flippant comment about stupid safety issues and went on my way. I just stumbled across this thread again last night and was more than a little disappointed by some of the very mean spirited comments made by one individual , Who said he is "Sorry if he heart my feelings but it was really the other guys fault for posting the thread in the first place"
anyway I'm pretty sure there is a hartfelt apology in there somewhere

I would like to thank all the people who stuck up for a fellow VBA member I thought that was very classy and
Thank You
