The first day and a half will be pretty boring. But not really much you can do about that. The rest of the riding should make up for it. Hope to see you this summer Bill. Will you be coming to South Central rally in Van Buren?

My plan is to leave Kanab and work my way to Van Buren.

Bill you might want to look at an alternate route on day 8, from Capital Reef to Torrey take hwy. 12 south to hwy. 89, hwy. 12 is rated one of the top 10 most scenic highways in the U.S. I have done both routes and both are great rides but I much prefer taking highway 12 as the scenery is awesome.
Good luck on your trip and ride safe.

Gene - that was my intent! Until you pointed it out, I did not realize that the map did not show the Hy 12 way. Txs.

BD, Scott, Joel; dare I point out that the ride to Custer was 3 over 600 mile days and a short 425 day for the Florida group each way. Then last year Ponch and I had two 700+ miles days each way going to Cresent City. Both rides were worth every mile.
I will be in Kanab and Praire Du Chein and Townsend loging over 6,000 this May and June but right now my longest days (5 of them) will all be just a tick over 600 each. And I don't think any of you are wimps, I think you are just not retired yet!!!
KSU in just over a month now!!!! Can't wait.
