It's an election year, we're going to be full of lies before you know it.

Maybe I'll just eat some toast . . .

I thought about it but calling in for 2 straight weeks would involve a note from my doctor. Might be tough to explain why I was so sick I couldn't come into work but was well enough to ride halfway across the country. If it was local (like I only had to take a few days off), I'd do it. It's not that I don't have the time on the books. We're REALLY short staffed so they're not approving much leave at all. :(

Go FMLA, what are they going to say? You had a sick brother that got stuck in Kanab, so you had to ride down there and help out . . . I'll even volunteer to resemble your brother.

We can take pictures of our bikes next to each other just incase they question our "Brotherhood", that should settle it.

A good backache should be good for at least a couple weeks.

As much as I'd hate to cheat the system, I'd almost consider it if I thought I could get away with it. I'd have such a guilty conscience, I wouldn't enjoy myself...........as much. Hell, Mark. You're my brother anyway. We'd just have to prove bloodline. Somehow, I don't think a pair of Nomads would cut it. The boss man is pretty astute.

In California it's against the law to "Use it or lose it." Vacation time is like pay, you've earned it and can not lose it.

I thought it was like that in all the states.

We don't lose it in Indiana unless we leave our job. At the time of our termination/retirement, we get paid for up to 225 unused vacation hours. Anything over that gets donated back to the state. I think I'm probably screwed.

I don't think so, Dave. As a 10+ year employee of my company I earn 160 hours of paid vacation a year. Company policy says once you reach 160 hours of time, you stop accruing time off. Right now, I have 160 hours "in the bank" and have to take a day off once a month or I stop accruing more time.

That may or may not be the same thing you're talking about...

We have the same type of policy with our sicktime. After you reach the max number of days you stop aquiring sicktime.
We just call in sick once in a while to stay below the max.
