You're late to the party. Another Nomad bites the dust.

I'll take a look at those First Gear Jackets, Ponch. I can't even try one on for a few weeks because of my cast anyways, but I have lots of time.

I have a Z1R leather jacket. it is fairly heavy and has zippers on he sleeves to tighten them around my wrists.
It has zippered vents on the front, back and lower back.
The shoulders are gusseted for comfort. It is very comfortable.
Now some of you would not buy it as it is made in Pakistan. You know, that country that we give billions of dollars to and 1 out of 3 Pakistanies hate us.
When it is real hot I wear a Your Master Intake.

What incident did you have? I must have missed something. I have the Fieldsheer High Flow 2 Mesh. It has pockets, inner liner and armor. It's too hot to wear with the liner down here. I usually just wear the liner when it's cold. The liner is also a rain guard.

I was fortunate enough to win a sweepstakes at the BMWMOA this year ($1000 at Bike Bandit) that I was about to buy the jacket, gloves and boots. Even more than the jacket, I would tell anyone to take a look at the Sidi On Road Goretex. Excellent boots. Wearing sneakers feels barefoot in comparison and yet they are comfortable enough for everyday use.

Thanks Bill; The road rash is healing amazingly well, I hope the foot and wrist do as well. The bike won't heal as well, the front forks are bent, as well as a lot of other stuff. Most likely I'll part it out.

What Jacket Should I Get?

Take a look at the Firstgear Kilimanjaro jacket. Waterproof, warm, good enough vents to wear up into 80's. I have 100,000 miles on mine. Rain, snow, sunny, all day in the cold..you name it, I have ridden through it while wearing the Kilimanjaro. Even had a person turn left in from of me and wore it while I tried to go through their Buick. Totaled the bike, but the pads on the jacket took the blow for me and I came out unscathed. After 5 years and heavy use, it is starting to lose some weatherproofing, so I am thinking about getting a new one, but won't even consider a different make jacket. Only negative is that they are not inexpensive. It is a bit pricey, but I think it is still a good value when you see what you get for the money..

I wanted that jacket, just isn't in my size. I got the Scout Jacket instead. Above 80 it starts getting a little warm, above 90 and I am cooking, but it's made very well.
