What's a 99 Nomad w/low miles worth?

Well thank you. It's probably the last color I would have chosen, but I bought it used and that's what color it was.

It's grown on me. I have people comment positive on it all the time. Not so much the "Nice bike" (I get that sometimes), but usually it's "I really like that color" and I get that one pretty much every time I take it out.

The 99's came in two stock colors the green / green and what they call the red / red like the one I have. Mine now has just under 26000 miles on it and it's setting in the garage waiting on a JOG right now. Picked this one up last year for under 4000.

Most I would pay would be in the $4,000 range. A bike with that few miles means it has had a lot of non-riding time. Good in one way as it has low miles. Bad in another as the bike has sat a lot and that isn't a good thing at all.

Judges Oil Gear = JOG

The original oil gear was plastic = POG

A 99' runs $4,200 to $4,500 around here. I think Cabby just sold his 99' this spring for around $4,500. Someone drove from Dallas to Laredo to pick it up. That is about an 8 hour drive, so it must have been a deal.

I paid $6000 cash for my 2000 FI nomad last year (Feb. 2010). I know, I know, that's a lot of money but it only had 195 miles (Pristine condition) on it. I changed all the fluids, flushed the radiator and put some new shoes on it this spring. Also, I plan on keeping it for quite awhile and it was like driving a new (10 year old bike) off the showroom floor, so it was worth that much to me. I have almost 10,000 miles on it now and I don't regret paying that much for a new/used nomad. Cash is king right now, especially in this economy. There is currently a 1999 Nomad in the Rapid City Journal for $3500 OBO, doesn't say how many miles are on it though. Jody

Paid $5K for my '99 in November of '07. It had 8200 miles on it. POG was replaced by dealer on their dime and was probably one of the last ones they did for free in November of '08. Bike now has 64K on it.

I would probably go $4K on the one you are looking at because you would have to drop around $300 for the JOG replacement (JOG, washers, gasket), unless it has been done already by dealership or an individual.

Hey Joel how long did it take you to get your JOG?

It can vary depending upon what he has on hand. I think mine took around 1 month, but he was waiting for some materials.
