Its something about the bike that is different from other vehicles, I don't mind working on it, cleaning it, or buying stuff for it, to me it almost all as good as riding it.

CJ's economic recovery program

Since I bought mine with a few cosmetic issues, I have helped the economic status of the private party sector. Searching for replacement parts and saving a few bucks over retail in the process. I'll let everyone else buy the bling. I may have a different attitude if I had bought my Nomad off the showroom floor. But, I think my ride appreciates being given a 2nd chance with parts that have seen roads that I will likely never see. Some soul from other Nomads.

27. MSF Course/Insurance

All this in the last 10 months.....when you put it on a list like this it reveals an addiction (I don't want to be cured) and explains why I am broke

But all this said....I bought the bike used...I made a bunch of new friends...have a had a blast so far AND even with all these expenses I only have $10,000 including the cost of the bike wrapped up into it.

Do you think many Harley Road King owners can say that?

So far this bike gets much more use and I get far more enjoyment than any of the other toys (boats, wave runners, dirt bikes, etc) I have bought over the last few years.

Can't wait to see Netnorske's list...he is probaby afraid to post it because members will threaten to show the list to his wife if he doesn't buy the beer in Custer :-/...oooh...did I say that out loud?

A couple of the items have been removed in favor of others, but I am still way ahead of the the cost of an Ultra, and will be very close to the function of one. Hi Cory,

Just wondering how the license plate holder worked out for you. Do you have a photo?

I think BC plates are the same size as Alberta's so I might just order the one you have.

Thanks,

Elvis

It works great. Most dealers in Canada sell the right one, I think almost all Canadian bike plates are the 5"x8" plates, so that is the important part for us.

The part numbers for the CWI items are:

02-34014 - for the inclined plate adapter
05-34004 - for the plate frame (not required but looks nice)

I don't have any pictures of that specifically, I will try and get one later today.

Cory,
Thanks a lot for your prompt reply. I'm currently in Ft. McMurray but will be home this weekend. I'll measure my plate then.
To mount the CWI plate holder, did you have to modify anything or did you simply use the 3 bolt base.
Cheers,

Ha....you guys think I have a long list, but I think Strobe is the new Stimulus champ among us. Heck, my list is no longer than some others here, but there definitely are some big ticket items. Not included are things that I have purchased and re-sold or are not currently on the bike.

In no particular order, I have added:

1. 3/8 chrome door edge molding for fender and trunk trim.
2. Nomad fender emblems.
3. Engine Guard Chap from Airlite.
4. Edmonds Lowers.
5. Kuryakyn Longhorn Dually ISO pegs.
6. PhatRisers II from Scootworks.
7. Brakeaway throttle lock.
8. Saddlebag Liners from TLC.
9. Mustang seat w/backrest.
10. Saddlebag top rails.
11. Saddlebag side rails.
12. Kuryakyn Run-Turn-Brake kit.
13. Deep dish amber bezels for front turn signals.
14. Auxilliary driving lights from CWI.
15. Smart Switch for driving lights.
16. Tour Pack w/luggage rack and chrome mounting bracket from Premeux.
17. Tour Pack organizer.
18. Handlebar mounted auxilliary power source from Powerlet.
19. LED lightbar for Tour Pack from Chrome Glow.
20. Dekker Supreme T-Bag for Tour Pack luggage rack.
21. Garmin Zumo 550 GPS unit.
22. Nomad backrest emblem for Tour Pack.
23. Power Commander III fuel processor.
24. K&N stock replacement filter.
25. Digital thermometer.
26. V&H Bagger Dual exhaust pipes.
27. Custom combo tank bib/bra from Frank's Leather Products.
28. Amber 35W Sealed Beam Lamps for the auxilliary lights.

and last but certainly not least....

29. Custom made "Ultimate Baffles" for the V&H pipes.... ;) !

Unlike CJ however....I did go through and add up my receipts for all this stuff. Including the out-the-door price for the bike and all the goodies, all I can say is.....YIKES.... !!

No mods required, it is made to fit, and fit perfectly.

Cory,
No argument there....I have spent a ton since buying this thing last July! I have put 7400 miles on it so far and have lots of long rides planned for this summer, including the run to Custer... !

I started to run the numbers through my head once and realized that some 3rd world countries don't have GNP of that magnitude. ;)
