Naw. It smelled like cat pee. Not enough Budwieser scent in it.

Burning Smell

If I let my bike idle for long, like in stop & go traffic, I have a burning smell and have had it since I got the bike 15 months ago. It now has over 21,000 miles on it and still gets the same smell when it gets hot. So far nothing has quit working.

Burning Smell

Well, mine smelled like burning paint when I first got it because of the BBQ black on the goats belly. After a dozen trips in summer traffic here it pretty much stopped, and then I changed to the baggers. There's still a good bit of black paint on the thing. I was happy to get rid of it. The burning paint smell was making me sick.

Burning Smell

I got rid of the goat belly at about 100 miles. Still has a burning electrical type smell. I figure if nothing has burned up in 21,000 miles, it's probably not a big deal.

Burning Smell

bankerfrank, I have my bike out now, and changing things discovered another place to look. I have V&H baggers and the heat off the rear jug has melted paint and distorted the right side cover out of site, but never the less I should have smelled burning.

This is far forward and high on the side cover in my case. A little fine dremel work will stop it.

Mac, I noticed that starting to happen on my bike as well, after I installed the Baggers. I took those plastic covers off & bought some chromed steel ones.

The ones Kawi sells are just stick-on chrome shells that mount over your plastic covers. Mine were made by some sheet metal guy in So Cal. & are steel formed from scratch. They're not die stamped. He probably hammered them over a wooden buck. I paid for 'em too.

Burning Smell

Hey Frank, I'm about 50 miles South of you in Thibodaux/Schriever. The love bugs were horrendous from late April up until about a week ago. I could smell the guts cooking on mine in slow traffic. Good possibility that's what you are smelling.
