Thanks towering, now I know what monkey butt is, guess I've never experienced it, other than being the monkey at the butt of some of the humor here sometimes.

you guys ever notice some of the banners on the top of the pages. They try to make them coincide with the topic of the thread. The title of this thread is Monkey Butt. The banner advertised Gay Chubbie Dating.

When I look at this thread the banner at the top was advertising 'beautiful monkey cages'. LOL It is entertaining to see what the banner will advertise based on the thread title.

The best thing that I've found is the beaded seatcovers from www.beadrider.com They are EXTREAMLY comfortable to sit on for long periods and as you ride down the road, you can feel the cool air passing under your buttocks. When you stop, and get off your bike, your not going around pulling your shorts out of your crack.

I've been to some Iron Butt talks by Don Arthur, the retired admiral who was in charge of all of Naval medical services, and who has many many miles under his belt. He said that baby power was better than the Gold Bond and other medical type powders because the "tingling" actually was not good for your skin. I switched over to baby powder (helped that I had a baby in the house so tried some of hers) and it worked well for me. Plus it's easier to find, and usually cheaper than Gold Bond. I even got it when I was getting all sweaty and uncomfortable when in Israel.

A seat that fits you good will help prevent hot spots.
Back when I had my stock seat I wore polypropylene compression shorts under my jeans...they seemed to keep me cooler.
I've never gotten Monkey Butt on my Russells Day-Long seat.
